Age of wonders 3 goblin dreadnought8/19/2023 ![]() But generally a stack in which all units have flying/floating or swimming can be a great asset!Īs for tricks to beware of sorcerors, well if you play on squire difficulty. Your travel buddies have a warlord and 2 warg riders? none of them can swim/fly/float (unless warlord has an item or mount) well i guess the wargs can embark. Glad I got this gem.įor your machine squad with the engineer i'd say bring a cannon superfun unit with absolutely ridiculous range (don't forget to reload with the engineer). What tricks I should beware of, what units should I bring to her doors? As the save and load functionalityīut now - I got to go for some real blood! The Sorceress is the nearest thing to my boys. Squire difficulty is truly forgiving one. The Nothern Guardians - a Draconian Sorcerer, Dwarf Firstborn, Yeti, Beetle Rider and 2 super champion Blight Docs. A jolly company made of Frosty Warlord, Frosty Druidess (for healing), 2 warg riders and some naga quest units. Joggernaut, Flame Tank, Engineer, Elite Musketeer and Ekko himself. The Dreadnaught Force - due to casualties returned home to be properly redone as Machine Squad. Now I got 3 split armies capable of independent slaughters. They seem to lag behind with 2-3 cities each. I got 3 other leaders - Dwarf Arch Druid, Draconian Arch Druid and Dwarf Sorceress. 1 absorbed human city on a lonely island, 1 vassal nagas on other big landmass. Now the continent is mine and I got 7 cities there. Plus perhaps I need to get them machines up and running. So, I guess ship research must be on the way. Soon my continent will be cleared of independents. Some (archer mainly) units sit in cities. My army (30 turn, must be lagging greatly in development) now consists of two bands lead byĢ guys (axemen and other guy) gifted to me by strategic Dwarven partners. He is ok, make one shot, reload, then maybe make one more shot. Except I don’t really use machines, I only got one musketeer, but I would not call him instrumental in any battle. They were pretty brave but not up to negotiations so international community (United Cities of Goblins) decided to intervene and change their undemocratic leadership to elected dwarf leaders that submit to right requests of their goblin overlords. On my continent I only found another independent dwarf outpost on the arctic side of it. And a handful of independents.Īlso absorbed that goblin town, settled my own. This let me find out two of three competitors - Dwarf and Draconian Druids. ![]() Thanks, first thing I did when restarted campaign was summoning spy nodes. build a settler and go settle some place exotic? That would take me to either small space right next to main town or more space but farther from my city, right after that goblin one. Save goldies to vassal/absorb that city? Did some quest.īut - my problem is, feels like no progress, and perhaps AI has improved way better (no idea, chose random maps, continents and don’t see them). Coupled with dart goblin and keep them around city.Ĭity built observatory, steam stuff, and some other upgrades.įound some independent goblin city. Got Theocrat hero, then lost her to some guys. So, now my main force - leader, 2 seasoned goblin blight doctors, 3 marauders + one warg rider for scouting/spying and joining battles is somewhere doing some irrelevant independent slaughters. My leader went on exploration with some initial units, and then some marodeurs joined me. I am 20-30 turns into game and have 0 idea what I am doing. Ekko has that lemur king Julian (Madagascar movie, got 2 kids.) vibe about him, so went with him. I read some beginners guides, some other stuff. Had played HOMM series, Civ series and CK2 before. Most of all, don't fixate on T4's - lower tiers aren't weak, and 2 T3's will generally kill a T4 without much trouble. This is my first time playing AOW3. There's loads and loads more to do with the class, but I think this is a good starting point. I've tried to keep it simple, and assumed AI opponents. Having 2 of both in a stack with a hero and either a golem or racial bruiser makes for a decent clearing stack. Get Cannons, which you can couple with Engineers. Some Golems are pretty sturdy, but pay the full price in the disabled regeneration. In case of machines, mix in some Engineers in your starting armies, and prioritize keeping them alive and getting them experience. A stack of cavalry lead by a hero is fast, can clear most sites, and is pretty efficient. ![]() All of these have Armored Cavalry, and aren't afraid to punch in melee. good races are Humans, orcs, elves or dwarves. The *common* routes are either Cavalry or Machines.Ĭavalry depends on getting Armored discount and Defense upgrade, as well as Side Arms, which gives a Fire Pistol ability to all cavalry.
